Alexander founded the debate magazine The European in 2009 and ran it as publisher and editor in chief until the successful acquisition of the company in the summer of 2015. The European gathered more than 3000 voices from Europe and beyond to tune in in the current and pressing issues of our time. The European had no political leaning and dedicated itself to an international and interdisciplinary debate that was rooted in the achievements of humanism and enlightenment.

With the rise of so called strong women and men throughout the Western world, Alex felt the urge to react to their outrageous claims with a new, tiny media outlet. In October 2016 he founded saveliberaldemocracy.com where he gathers voices such as, amongst others; Noam Chomsky, Niall Ferguson, Steven Pinker, Danielle Allen, Francis Fukuyama and Vint Cerf to engage in a discussion about the challenges that a liberal democratic order faces today.
